Ergun/ "Football will be introduced as one the major part of extra-curricular activities in Azerbaijani secondary schools from the next academic year onwards ," Rovnag Abdullayev, President of Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA), said to journalist on 24 April.
On 18 October, Azerbaijani President approved the state program on development of football in 2005-2015. The program reflected such issues as development of children football, football in the secondary schools, improvement of the financial and technical basis of football and preparation of the specialists.
Abdullayev said that football game in the secondary schools would positively affect the development of children football, which will result in improving the future of Azerbaijani football.
"Beginning from the next academic year, football will be introduced in all forms of secondary schools," Agabala Ibrahimov, head of Upbringing and Military Education Department at the Education Ministry, said to Trend on 24 April.
