The National Council of the Azerbaijani Youth Organizations led by MP Fuad Muradov was one of the festival's organizers. The tournament's host was Ales Mukhin, team captain of the Moscow elite club "What? Where? When?" .

" What? Where? When?" local and world championships have been conducted in Azerbaijan since 2002 upon Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's initiative, Muradov told Trend.

"This is one of main directions of intellectual youth development. As we can see, students of different higher schools of Azerbaijan display great interest in the game. We decided to arrange championships among university teams to allow everyone partaking in this game", Muradov said.

He said some of these teams currently play in the "What? Where? When? " Moscow and Russian Leagues.

Last year there was initiated intellectual youth festival - Baku Pearl - that now takes place in Baku for the second time, said Muradov.

"We conduct it not only because of our youth's interest in it but also due to the State Youth Development Program", he said.

Muradov said today discussion is underway on the second program covering 2011-2015.

" President Aliyev instructed the working group , in which we also partake , to develop the concept of this program . It is important that the Azerbaijani government supports a program on the development of intellectual youth, as well as a program on the sport development," he said .
