Twenty per cent of Iranian population is aged over 55. At present, their number is more than 15 million and the aging generation will hit 20 million in the near future, chairman of Iranian Congress of Physicians Iraj Khosravani, ISNA news agency reported.

Twenty per cent of Iranian population is aged over 55. At present, their number is more than 15 million and the aging generation will hit 20 million in the near future, chairman of Iranian Congress of Physicians Iraj Khosravani, ISNA news agency reported.

Khosravani stressed that there is no favourable condition for aged generation in the country and said the studies show that at present there is no hospital for aged people.

He also mentioned that there are not enough state sanatoriums for aged people in the country and said doctors and officials should pay more attention to this matter.
