S Korea becomes largest export market for U.S. beef

South Korea became the largest export market for U.S. beef in September, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported on Wednesday.

The U.S. beef exports to South Korea reached 16,642 tons, which was worth of 89.24 million U.S. dollars, or 28 percent of total U.S. beef exports, in September, Yonhap quoted a report by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), reported Xinhua.

South Korea lifted bans over U.S. beef imports in June.

According to the USDA report, Mexico imported 77.91 million-U.S.dollar worth of U.S. beef, while Canada bought 58.93 million-U.S. dollar-worth U.S. beef in September.
