The fish breeding plant “Asni” operating in the Kengerli district of Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, plans to increase the volumes of canned fish products, a source in the company told Trend.

The source noted that the plant intends to increase the production of trout.

“The plant is mainly engaged in the breeding of this type of fish,” the source said. “We produce canned trout in tomato sauce, as well as in olive oil. Products are sold exclusively in the domestic market. Fresh fish, which is caught in a lake located in Nakhchivan, is also on sale.”

The source added that there are plans to increase the volume of canned fish products from next year. According to the source, the plant will not export its products outside Azerbaijan.

“Products are sold in Nakhchivan and throughout Azerbaijan,” the source said. “We plan to meet the needs of the population for fresh and canned fish products as much as possible, and don’t consider the possibility of exports.”

The products of “Asni” have a certificate of compliance with hygienic requirements and quality standards issued by the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The plant uses Russian-made equipment.
