Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend I.Khalilova / In cooperation with the Chamber of Trade and Industry of China, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will organize a seminar in Guangzhou between 24 and 28 September regarding cooperation and interaction of the chambers of trade and industry and investment companies in Central Asia and the Caucasus, a source stated at the ADB Baku Office. The event will be organized within ADB's Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program.
The seminar will cover the investment climate in ADB member-countries and establishment of cooperation amongst them.
For Azerbaijan's participation in the event, invitations have been sent to the Azerbaijan Investment Company, Chamber of Trade and Industry, National Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan and Society of Azerbaijani and Turkish Business People (ATIB). The organizations have not confirmed their participation in the event yet.
CAREC is a partnership of eight countries ( Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan) and six international financial institutions (Asian Development Bank, International Monetary Fund, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, UNDP, World Bank and Islamic Development Bank).
The CAREC program focuses on financing infrastructure projects and improving the region's policy in priority areas such as transport, energy , trade policy and trade facilitation.
