The UAE based company Masdar, also known as Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, will begin the construction of a 230-megawatt solar power plant in Azerbaijan, Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, the Chief Executive Officer of Masdar, told Trend.
According to Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, the construction will begin by the end of March 2022, and will be fully put into operation in 18 months.
Masdar has a desire to expand its presence in the Azerbaijani energy market, he noted.
“Azerbaijan has great potential in the green energy sector, and if the government gives us the opportunity to develop more projects, we will be very happy,” chief executive officer said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan, Azerenergy OJSC and Masdar signed documents on the construction project of a solar power plant with an installed capacity of 230 megawatts.
