By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:

Russia and Iran are looking for a pretence to justify the Syrian regime, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Jan.22 in an interview with Turkish TRT Haber TV channel.

Turkey has always endeavoured to tell the world the truth about the crimes of the Syrian government, according to the minister.

The foreign minister also pointed out that Ankara hopes that after some 55,000 photos depicting war crimes carried out by the Syrian army against the opposition were released, Moscow and Tehran will change their position with regard to the Syrian government.

Earlier, the Turkish Anadolu agency issued 55,000 photos depicting the war crimes committed by the Syrian army.

During the conflict in Syria, which began in March 2011, over 140, 000 people were killed and over 4.2 million have become refugees in Syrian territory as well as an additional two million having fled to neighbouring countries. The main burden of receiving refugees lay on Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey. The total population of Syria before the conflict amounted to 20 million.
