An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale jolted the Turkish south-western province of Izmir, Turkish Milliyet newspaper reported on April 30.
Bogazici University Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute said the earthquake occurred at 07:00 local time on April 30 and caused panic among the local population.
The earthquake epicenter was at a depth of eight kilometers.
There are no victims or destructions, according to preliminary data.
