The Kyrgyz president said what his country can learn from the Turkish nation. Prior to Turkish president's visit to Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev gave interview to Zaman Kyrgyzstan newspaper.
"What Kyrgyzstan can learn from Turkey," the journalist asked.
Kurmanbek said "the present-day Turkey is a developed country which ranks 8th in world policy."If we learn from the nation that we share common roots, it would be a positive factor on the backdrop of strengthening global competition as Kyrgyz people say: "Honor for kind people and disaster for bad people," 24.kg news agency quoted Bakiyev as saying.
"For example, Turkey's traditional respect for government institutions and symbols is a good example for our young states with younger governmental institutions. Equal market and human interaction and also interaction between government and democratic institutions, the harmony between state and religion in Turkey are one more example for us," Bakiyev said.
Kurmanbek Bakiyev said that "he firmly believes that Kyrgyzstan will become a highly productive and important country able to reach a reasonable and harmonious combination of innovations and traditions of ancestors, market relations and the national cultural identity."
