Azerbaijan and Stavropol Region of Russian Federation closely cooperate in the agricultural sector, increasing the potential of bilateral cooperation, especially in crop production, animal husbandry and product processing, Alexander Zakharchenko, a representative of the administration of the Petrovsky municipal district of Stavropol, told Trend Sept. 27.
He noted that bilateral cooperation on export of grain to Azerbaijan from Stavropol is progressing most intensively.
"Trade turnover of the region with Azerbaijan is $158 million, of which $94 million falls on exports. Mainly grain and other agricultural products, various types of fertilizers are supplied from Stavropol to Azerbaijan," Zakharchenko said.
Today, he said, the Azerbaijani business in Stavropol is widely represented not only in agriculture, but also in tourism, resort business and industry.
