Solar panel stations launched in two provinces of Iran

A 1.6-megawatt-hour 4 solar panel stations at a cost of 226 billion rials (about $5.38 million) has been launched in the Fars and Khuzestan provinces of Iran, Trend reports citing Ministry of Energy of Iran.

According to the report, a 1-megawatt-hour solar panel station was launched in the Marvdasht County of Fars Province (southern Iran) at a cost of 130 billion rials (about $3.09 million). This station can generate 1.75 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.

“About 42 people have been employed with the launch of the station. The operation of the station will save 500,000 cubic meters of natural gas, 385 liters of water and prevent the spread of 1,200 tons of environmental pollutants per year,” the report said.

In addition, 3 solar panel stations with each capacity of 200 kilowatt-hours have been launched in the Dezful County of the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran), the report said.

According to the report, 96 billion rials (about $2.28 million) have been spent on the installation of these stations. Each station can generate about 350,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. The operation of each station will prevent the spread of 230 tons of environmental pollutants, save 77 liters of water and 100,000 cubic meters of gas. As many as 11 people were employed at each station.

As reported, the solar panel stations in Iran's Fars Province can generate 89.6 megawatt-hours of electricity, while in Khuzestan Province – 14.5 megawatt-hours of electricity, at present.
