BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 15. Trade between Kyrgyzstan and China totaled $3.178 billion from January through June 2024, which is a 42.5 percent increase compared to $2.230 billion in the same period of 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, exports from Kyrgyzstan to China amounted to $48.991 million, up 45.9 percent from $33.589 million in the first half of 2023.
Imports from China reached $3.129 billion, a 42.5 percent increase from $2.196 billion the previous year.
In the overall structure of Kyrgyzstan's trade, China holds the top position with a 41.9 percent share. Chinese imports constitute 49.6 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total imports, while exports to China make up 3.8 percent.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $7.6 billion from January through June 2024. The figure increased by 9.4 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Within this turnover, exports accounted for 16.9 percent, while imports made up 83.1 percent.
Exports from Kyrgyzstan in January–June 2024 decreased by 3.2 percent year-on-year, totaling $1.3 billion. The value of imported goods into Kyrgyzstan was $6.3 billion, which is a 12.4 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023.
