Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi met with Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on the sidelines of the 18th African Union Summit on Sunday.

Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi met with Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on the sidelines of the 18th African Union Summit on Sunday, IRNA reported.

Salehi and Bozdag discussed bilateral and international cooperation, as well as regional developments.

Referring to constant liaisons between Turkish and Iranian officials, Foreign Minister Salehi emphasized the expansion of bilateral ties and mutual cooperation on regional and international issues.

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bozdag for his part, while referring to numerous commonalities between Iran and Turkey, said that expansion of bilateral ties between Ankara and Tehran is a good opportunity.

Bozdag called for making use from all existing potentials accordingly.

He noted that despite the imposition of unilateral sanctions against Islamic Republic of Iran by the West, Turkey favors enhancement of ties with Iran.

The two sides underlined stability and security of the region.
