Horrified zoo-goers in China claimed they had witnessed live puppies being fed to snakes.
One eye-witness told MailOnline she saw one puppy being swallowed whole by a golden python as she visited the state-run Hebin Park in central China's Pingdingshan city.
The eye-witness said she saw two live puppies in two separate enclosures on the afternoon of January 20.
Keepers have reportedly stopped giving snakes live puppies after the news caused an outcry among the Chinese public.
