Two PKK terrorists were killed Monday by security forces in the eastern province of Tunceli, a security source told Anadolu Agency.
Police special operations team shot and killed the terrorists in the Ovacik district, according to the source who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
The incident happened around 9:45 p.m. local time (1845GMT), Tunceli governor's office said in a statement.
“A large group of terrorists who were trying to infiltrate into Ovacik district was noticed by security forces, the region was targeted with intense gunfire, two terrorists were shot dead and others escaped,” the statement said.
