Group smuggling drugs from Iran detained in Azerbaijan

On Feb. 25, the Lerik Police Department detained Iranian citizens smuggling into Azerbaijan.

Residents of the Iranian city Ardabil, Qeybullayev Fazil Seyfulla oglu and Babazade Nusrat Habib oglu, illegally crossed the border in the Jontulu village. They were later detained.

Two kilograms of drugs were seized, Lerik Police Chief Nurali Nuraliyev said.

An investigation has launched into the case.

Two groups smuggling drugs from Iran were detained last month.

Ninety kilograms were seized.
