Iran’s non-oil exports increase by 21%

Iran's non-oil exports (including condensates) surpassed $16.308 billion during the first four months of current fiscal year (March 20-July 20), indicating a rise by 21 percent compared to the same period of the preceding year.

Iran exported some 41.161 million tons of non-oil goods during that period which is 36 percent more compared with the 4-month period of preceding year, said the latest statistics released by Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI).

Liquefied natural gas worth $1.94 billion (100 percent more year-on-year), other petroleum gases and liquefied gas hydrocarbons worth $575 million (19 percent decrease), light oils and products (except for gasoline) worth $510 million(90 percent increase), liquefied propane worth $494 million (8 percent decrease), steel and iron products worth $399 million (34 percent increase), grid polyethylene film worth $324 million(19 percent fall), liquefied butane worth $309(18 percent fall), cathode copper worth $302 million(1530 percent rise) and tar worth $297 million (39 percent decrease) topped the list of Iran's exported non-oil goods.

The average price for each ton of Iran's non-oil goods in the mentioned period was around $396, which is 11 percent less than in the previous year.

China ($2.938 billion), the UAE (with $2.482 billion), Turkey ($2.174 billion), Iraq (with $1.924 billion) and South Korea ($1.491 billion) were top five biggest importers of Iranian goods.

The mentioned five countries imported 67 percent of Iran's total non-oil exports in terms of value in the first four months of current Iranian fiscal year.

Iran's exports to South Korea registered a huge rise by 2439 percent in the period, meanwhile the country's exports to China and Turkey increased by only nine and 10 percent.

Tehran's exports to the UAE and Iraq also decreased by nine percent and five percent respectively compared with the 4-month period of preceding year.
