Members of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) Association plan to attract a new feeder vessel for regular shipments in the Caspian Sea, reads the protocol of the TITR general meeting signed in Baku May 8.

Feeder shipments in the Caspian Sea started after an extraordinary meeting of the TITR Association in Baku on April 6.

“Based on the preliminary results of the feeder vessel’s operation, the TITR Consortium together with a working group was instructed to ensure the reverse loading of the vessel on the Baku (Azerbaijan) - Aktau (Kazakhstan) route, including with Turkish cargo in the containers owned by the KTZ Express JSC,” reads the document.

Also, in connection with the need to carry out repair work on the “Mahmud Rahimov” feeder vessel in June this year, TITR members involved in providing feeder services for container transportation need to attract a vessel for regular operation on the route.

Feeder shipments involve maritime transportation of cargoes by small vessels, usually for short distances for further consolidation, loading and transportation of cargoes by big vessels.
