Azerbaijan expands geography of petroleum coke export

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 5

The petroleum coke produced at the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has begun to be exported to India, a subsidiary of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, ADY Express LLC, told Trend.

According to ADY Express, these cargoes are being transported to the Georgian port of Poti.

The coke, loaded into open wagons at the Azerbaijani Keshla station, is transported to the Poti port, where it is loaded onto a ship and delivered by sea to the destination country, the company said.

Since early 2021, 25,000 tons of coke have been shipped to India.

“Of the volume, the last batch of 1,000 tons has already been unloaded. Another 25,000 tons of coke is planned to be transported during February. The carriages are provided directly by ADY Express LLC, said the message.

From November through December 2020, ADY Express transported 27,000 tons of petroleum coke to the port of Poti, which was then delivered to China.
