BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 3. Kyrgyzstan’s passenger transportation by public buses amounted to 38.4 million people in January 2023, Trend reports via the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the statistics, the figure increased by 1.7 percent compared to the same month of 2022, when the buses of the country transported 37.8 million people.
Kyrgyzstan's passenger transportation via taxis reached 2.7 million of people in January 2023 - up by 3.4 percent, compared to 2.6 million people in January 2022.
Meanwhile, the largest growth of 95.2 percent was registered in trolleybus passenger transportation. Some 2.3 million people were transported by this type of transport. In comparison, in January 2022 the figure stood at 1.2 million people.
In addition, according to the statistics, the passenger turnover by buses in Kyrgyzstan reached 556.7 million passenger-kilometers in January 2023, which is an increase of 4 percent, compared to January 2022.
The passenger turnover by taxi reached 60.9 million passenger-kilometers in the reporting period, increasing by 11 percent compared to the same month of 2022.
Meanwhile, the passenger turnover by trolleybus amounted to 9.8 million passenger-kilometers in January 2023, increasing by 96 percent, compared to January 2022.
