Turkish premier against exploitation over TRNC
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that nobody shall make exploitation by using Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Anadolu News Agency reported.
Turkey is a guarantor country in Cyprus and it will continue to support Turkish Cypriots, however, it will not give credit for speculation, said Erdogan who spoke at his Justice & Development (AK) Party group meeting on Tuesday.
Referring to the protests in TRNC, Erdogan said that the banners, which were opened during the protests, not only harmed Turkish Cypriots' interests but also played into the hands of Greek Cypriot administration.
Noting that the highest support to TRNC was extended during the rule of AK Party for the last eight years, Erdogan said that TRNC had become more visible in international platforms.
Erdogan wanted nobody to make exploitation by using TRNC, adding that rights of TRNC had never been such visible in international platform, noting that nobody including the opposition parties could compete in this issue.
Cyprus is our national cause, and we will never give up this cause, said Erdogan, adding that they would continue to work with sensitivity to protect the interests of TRNC.
