Exports from Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir to Azerbaijan increase

Export value from Turkish cities of Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir to Azerbaijan in February 2020 made up $87.1 million, Turkey’s Ministry of Trade told Trend on March 13.

Istanbul’s export to Azerbaijan in the reported period increased to $67.2 million, which is 21.6 percent more compared to February 2019, the ministry noted.

“In February 2020, Ankara’s export to Azerbaijan grew by 51.2 percent compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $14.3 million,” the ministry said.

According to the ministry, Izmir’s export to Azerbaijan in February of this year made up $5.5 million, which is 15 percent more compared to the same period of 2019.

In January-February 2020, the total export volume from Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir to Azerbaijan amounted to $168 million.

Istanbul’s exports to Azerbaijan in January-February 2020 made up $136.8 million, which is 32.6 percent more compared to the same period of 2019.

Exports from Ankara to Azerbaijan in the reported period increased by 26 percent compared to the same period of 2019 and stood at $20.9 million.

“During the reporting period, exports from Izmir to Azerbaijan amounted to $10.2 million, which is 11.4 percent more compared to the same period of 2019,” the ministry noted.

In January-February 2020, Turkey’s export to Azerbaijan increased by 26.8 percent compared to the same period of 2019 and made up $245 million.

Turkey’s foreign trade turnover in January 2020 exceeded $33.9 billion.
