Pakistan's minister to mull trade, economic ties in Azerbaijan

Pakistan's Federal Minister for Commerce will visit Azerbaijan in the nearest future to discuss opportunities for expanding trade and economic relations between the two countries, Pakistan’s Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan said.

Dastgir Khan made remarks at the meeting with Azerbaijani Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Alizade, the embassy of Azerbaijan in Pakistan told Trend November 2.

“Azerbaijan and Pakistan have great potential for development of economic cooperation,” the minister added.

“The social-economic development of Azerbaijan, favorable business sphere created for foreign investors in the country, transportation corridors, production enterprises and other economic and trade opportunities, make the country attractive to investors,” he said.

According to the message, Dastgir Khan and Alizade also discussed the possibilities of expanding the legal framework and mutually beneficial cooperation issues.

The volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Pakistan varied from $17-25 million in the last five years.
