First meeting of national security council to be held in new format in Tbilisi

The meeting of Georgian national security council will be held in new format for the first time on August 5.  

Representatives of opposition parties will participate in it. However, representatives of the parliamentary and non-parliamentary opposition, will attend the meeting. People's Forum Akakia Asatiani, For Fair Georgia of ex-Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli and Freedom party Konstantine Gamsakhurdia from non-parliamentary opposition stressed their willing to participate in the meeting.

Opposition explains thier participation in the meeting as state issues on will be solved during the meeting. The country must be united, especially for external threat. Non-parliamentary leading parties refused to participate in this meeting.

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili offered opposition to participate in the meeting within new wave of democratic reforms. He said that all political forces must be united in protection of Georgian interests and external threat. 

Mikheil Saakashvili is expected to participate in the meeting.
