Work is underway to choose a company engaged in light and sound effects for the Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Baku in May 2012, Azerbaijan's Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov told journalists today. He said the ministry in not engaged in the construction of a facility to host the competition.
Contest participants from Azerbaijan, Eldar Gasimov and Nigar Jamal (Ell / Nikki) won the Eurovision-2011 with the song "Running Scared" gaining 221 points. Thus, Azerbaijan obtained the right to host the Eurovision-2012.
Rahimov said an organizing committee was established in connection with Baku's nomination to host the Summer Olympic Games in 2020.
" The organizing committee has sent its proposals to the National Olympic Committee, but other work has not been yet launched," Rahimov said .
