BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 6. The second meeting of interior ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) will be held in 2025 in Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
The decision was made today in the Kyrgyz city of Cholpon Ata at the first meeting of the Interior Ministers of the OTS member countries.
The meeting was attended by the Interior Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Vilayat Eyvazov, Interior Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Sadenov, Interior Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Ulan Niyazbekov, Interior Minister of the Republic of Türkiye Ali Yerlikaya, Interior Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Pulat Bobojonov, and Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev.
Addressing the meeting, the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States stressed that the first meeting of the interior ministers of the Organization's member states is the basis of a new platform, which will operate regularly and will be another step of the Turkic states towards strengthening cooperation.
The participants informed about the activities of the agencies they headed in the field of combating transnational organized crime, including terrorism, extremism, drug and human trafficking, and cybercrime. They emphasized the importance of cooperation between law enforcement agencies within the OTS.
The declaration of the first meeting of the OTS Interior Ministers was signed, and a decision was made to hold the second meeting of the OTS Interior Ministers in Azerbaijan in 2025.
