BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 30. Azerbaijan increased the production of propylene by 12.2 percent from January through February 2022 compared to the same period of 2021 up to 27.6 tons, Trend reports referring to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.
Some 26.1 tons out of that volume accounted for the production of commercial propylene. Thus, the production of commercial propylene in Azerbaijan increased by 13.5 percent year on year.
According to the State Statistics Committee, 96 tons of methanol were produced in Azerbaijan from January through February 2022 (methanol was not produced in the country in the same period of 2021).
Ethylene production decreased by 11.2 percent in Azerbaijan from January through February 2022 compared to the same period of 2021 and reached 29.4 tons.
Some 30.2 tons of polyethylene were produced in Azerbaijan from January through February 2022, which is nine percent less than in the same period of 2021.
The production of paint and varnish products decreased by 12.8 percent over the year and exceeded 3.2 million tons.

The production of chemical products reached 412.9 million manat ($242.9 million) from January through February 2022, which is almost twofold or $201.3 million more than in the same period of 2021.
