BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 8. More than 448.2 million manat ($263.6 million) have been returned to consumers since the start of the project to refund part of the VAT (Value Added Tax) in Azerbaijan until August 1, 2023, Trend reports.
According to figures from Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy's State Tax Service, more than 86.7 million manat ($51 million) were returned to customers from January to July of this year.
To be eligible for a VAT refund, the consumer, or the party making the purchase or utilizing the service, must be an individual, and the seller or the party providing the service must be a VAT payer.
In addition, more than 68.4 million manat ($40.2 million) of VAT were returned to consumers for non-cash purchases of goods or services in 2022.
