Kazakhstan, Astana, June 12 / Trend D. Mukhtarov /

The mining industry development concept-2030 is being developed in Kazakhstan. It will take into account the answers to all the challenges, Kazakh Minister of Industry and New Technologies Aset Isekeshev said today.

"The work on improving the legislative-regulatory base will be first completed within the concept," Isekeshev said at the opening of the IV International "Astana Mining & Metallurgy" forum ("AMM-2013") in Astana today. "We will pass to the international standards. The experience of foreign countries is being examined now. It is planned to amend the law on subsoil use in terms of simplifying the procedures in this sphere."

He said that the expansion and renewal of the mineral resource base will be the second important direction in the Kazakh mining industry.

"A modern system of managing mineral resources will be created," he said. "The best technologies for the exploration and processing of mineral raw materials were used. The basis of developing own technologies and the relevant research and innovation base will be laid."

He added that the third direction is the modernization of existing enterprises and construction of new ones.

"Moreover, it is necessary to adapt the transport-logistics and energy infrastructure to the regional structure of Kazakhstan's mineral resources, as well as to the placement of mining and metallurgical industries," he stressed.

The AMM Forum annually brings together the world's political, business, financial and scientific leaders from the mining and metallurgical industry for the development of mutually beneficial partnerships and the introduction of innovation and attraction of investment.

According to preliminary data, the forum gathered with around 700 delegates from all over Kazakhstan and neighbouring countries as well as members of delegations of member countries, ambassadors and representatives of trade missions accredited in Kazakhstan.

The first Kazakhstan conference on scrap of non-ferrous metals as well as similar round tables will be held within two days of the forum. The concept of AMM provides coverage of all matters relating to the full cycle of production processes from exploration, mining and processing to manufacturing of finished products.
