Five countries account for 69 per cent of Iran’s total exports

Five countries imported 69 per cent of Iran's total non-oil exports (in terms of value) in the first four months of 2013.

China, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan, and India are the five mentioned countries, the FARS News Agency reported.

Iran exported 24.309 million tons of goods worth 10.178 billion dollars in the mentioned period.

The average price for each ton of Iranian goods was around 419 dollars in the four month period, which is 15.99 per cent more than the same period of time previous year.

Iran exported 2.136 and 2.02 billion dollars worth of goods to China and India, respectively in the mentioned period.

Iran also imported 11.109 million tons of goods worth 15.41 billion dollars in the mentioned period.

The IRNA News Agency reported on Mar.26 that Asia accounted for 92 per cent of Iran's total exports in the previous calendar year, which ended on March 20.

Iraq, china, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan, India, Turkey, South Korea, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, and Azerbaijan were the main destinations for the Iranian goods, IRNA reported.

The Europe also accounted for 5 per cent of Iran's exports.

Iran had non-oil trade with 196 countries in the previous year.

The country's balance of trade with 97 countries such the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Switzerland, turkey, and China was negative in the mentioned period, the ISNA News Agency reported on March 6.

Tehran's balance was also positive with 99 countries, including Iraq, Afghanistan, India, Turkmenistan, and Pakistan.

The balance of trade, or net exports, is the difference between the monetary value of exports and imports of output in an economy over a certain period. It is the relationship between a nation's imports and exports.
