SOCAR to complete construction of new facility as a part of gas program by end of year

By the end of the year Heydar Aliyev Deep Water Jacket Plant plans to complete construction of one of the blocks of the double-unit gas lifting platform on offshore Guneshli field developed independently by SOCAR, a source at SOCAR close to work said.

"Works for the construction of one of the blocks is ongoing. Part of the work is already done. It is planned that the unit will be ready before the end of the year," a source said.

One blocks of this platform was built long ago by Neftegazstroy trust at SOCAR. Repairs are expected to be implemented in this block.

Another source in SOCAR said earlier that construction of a new technology double-unit platform for SOCAR will begin no earlier than late 2010. SOCAR's diving department has completed a study into the seabed where a new platform is expected to be installed. The data obtained will soon be submitted to the Neftegazproekt Institute owned by SOCAR.

The height of the new technology platform will be 92 meters. Gas lifting system of 28 May oil and gas production unit will be concentrated here.

This platform is one of the major facilities which will be put into operation as a part of the SOCAR gas program for 3009.
