Iran sees increase in load/unload operations at its Chabahar port

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran) increased by 49.2 percent in the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 22, 2021), compared to the 6th month (August 23 through September 22, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 456,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the seventh month. Of this amount, 44,200 tons were loaded and 412,000 tons were unloaded.

Also, 42,500 tons of cargo were exported and 234,000 tons were imported through the Chabahar port over the reporting month.

Furthermore, 2,180 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for transit in the 7th month.

According to the statistics, 175,000 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for cabotage during the seventh month.

At the same time, 1,720 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for other purposes.

So, about 227,000 tons of essential products, 42,500 tons of construction and mining materials, 1,240 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the 7th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 342 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 116 tons of small and assorted products, 8,870 tons of container products and 175,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

As reported, about 12 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the seventh month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.6 million tons were loaded and 6.36 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 12.5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
