It is planned to commission 10.1 million square meters of housing (99,000 apartments) this year in Kazakhstan within the Nurly Jer housing construction program, said Markhabat Zhayymbetov, chairman of the Committee on Construction, Housing and Communal Services of the Ministry for Investments and Development of Kazakhstan.
According to Zhayymbetov, 6.9 million square meters of housing were commissioned for eight months of this year.
This indicator is 8.4 percent higher compared to the same period in 2016. At the expense of state investments, 636,200 square meters (9.2 percent), or 10,366 apartments, were commissioned, the committee chairman said.
Leading positions on commissioning of housing belong to Astana city (1.8 million square meters of housing commissioned), Almaty city (1 million square meters), Mangystau region (649,000 square meters) and South Kazakhstan region (400,000 square meters). In 2018, it is planned to commission70,600 square meters of housing (1,225 apartments), the press service of the ministry reported.
