According to him, 78 per cent (5,013) from the registered are citizens of Uzbekistan, 11,2 per cent (722) are citizens of Kyrgyzstan, 3,8 per cent (245) are citizens of Tajikistan, 2,5 per cent (259) are Russian citizens, and 4,5 per cent (286) are citizens of other countries.

As to regions where the legalized labour migrants prefer to settle, 1,048 people fall at Almaty, 940 people on Almaty Region, 815 people on Kyzylorda Region.

It should be mentioned that Kazakhstan has adopted the law on Amnesty in the Connection with Legalization of Labour migrants from August 1 till December 31, 2006 and its internal bodies fulfill a one-time action on legalizing of illegal labour migrants.

It is better live easy and legally than illegally and underground. This is the main goal of our action. It is also important that our labour migrants have firm guarantees of their legal stay in the country, told G. Alpysbayev.

For bringing in a wide strata of illegal labour migrants, not only those who are engaged in the construction and service fields, but also those home-workers (watchmen, housewives, cooks, servants, gardeners, etc) to legalization, the Internal Ministry worked out special methodical recommendations on Order of Legalization of Illegal Migrants in Informal Sector of Labour Market which are aimed at lower subdivisions of the migration policy.
