DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, December 27. Tajikistan exported 2,297 tons of base metals to Belgium from January through September 2023, which is a 23-percent increase compared to the same period in 2022 (1,854 tons), Trend reports.
According to the latest data from the Belgian Foreign Trade Agency, the value of these imports amounted to 25.409 million euros, which is a 10-percent rise compared to the corresponding timeframe last year (22.975 million euros). Base metals made up nearly 100 percent of Tajikistan's exports to Belgium in the current year's nine-month period. In the previous year's same period, the country also exported textiles and plastics to Belgium.
Tajikistan's total exports to Belgium amounted to 25.412 million euros, which is a 4.9-percent increase year-on-year. Among the countries from which Belgium imported products, Tajikistan was ranked 117th.
In contrast, Tajikistan's imports from Belgium during January through September 2023 amounted to 12 million euros, soaring by 72 percent year-on-year. Among the countries to which Belgium exported its products, Tajikistan was ranked 160th.
The overall trade turnover between Tajikistan and Belgium reached 37.4 million euros from January through September 2023.
