BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 11. Representatives of the Turkish Embassy in Turkmenistan visited the Artyk checkpoint located on the Turkmen-Iranian state border, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, members of the delegation and representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan exchanged views on the issues of simplifying operations on transit and bilateral international road cargo transportation from the territory of Turkmenistan, the use of digitization of the TIR (Transport International Routier) Carnet, as well as providing preliminary information about the cargo.
Furthermore, they discussed the positive results of using the benefits created in connection with the transition to a digital system for Turkish drivers in Turkmenistan.
The customs system in Turkmenistan has been actively improving recently. For example, in the Artyk checkpoint modern conditions have been created for the high-quality implementation of customs procedures, a digital system has been introduced, TIR Carnets are used in international cargo transportation.
