TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 20. Uzbekistan and the World Bank (WB) discussed implementation of the Rural Infrastructure Development (RIDP) Phase 1 and Phase 2 projects, Trend reports.
The project was reviewed at a meeting between Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, Samandar Sadullayev, and the World Bank’s Social Sustainability and Inclusion Global Practice Manager for Europe and Central Asia, Helene Carlsson Rex.
During the meeting, the participants discussed measures aimed at efficient design and construction of facilities in the project area. The parties noted the significant progress achieved under the RIDP.
In addition, the sides emphasized the preparation of a new phase, which involves expansion of geographical coverage and introduction of new components. These changes are aimed at improving the efficiency and sustainability of infrastructure projects, which in turn will contribute to the social and economic development of the regions.
At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed confidence in further active dialogue and productive cooperation aimed at achieving common goals and strengthening strategic partnership.
Earlier, Uzbekistan and WB discussed the application of new alternative finance instruments in the country.
