Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki is in Nigeria to attend the council meeting of the foreign ministers of eight developing countries, known as the D8.

The council meeting of the foreign ministers will examine the final declaration to be later approved on the final day of the 7th D8 summit, Press TV reported.

During the ministerial meeting on Tuesday, the Iranian foreign minister is scheduled to deliver a speech, during which he will put forward Iran's proposals for enhanced cooperation between the member states, IRNA reported on Tuesday.

The summit kicked off on July 4 to discuss "Enhancing Investment Cooperation among D8 Members" and will be wrapped up on July 8.

Among the issues to be discussed in the summit is the D8 Roadmap for Economic Cooperation (2008-2018).

The summit will also examine cooperation in tourism, banking, transport, energy and technology.

Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkey, Egypt, Bangladesh, Nigeria and Pakistan are D8 members.
