Iran's home-made drones are capable of operating within a range of 3,000 kilometers and send data online, Iran's Fars news agency reported on Dec. 5.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Deputy Commander Brigadier-General Hossein Salami said the drones are equipped with radar evasion systems.

"Ten years ago, manufacturing engines for drones was just a dream for us. Now, we have attained the technology, so that developed countries are signing deals with us to manufacture such engines for them," Salami said.

Commander of the Aerospace Division of IRGC Brigadier General Amir-Ali Hajizadeh said Iran is today able to design and build different types of drones for various operations.

The Islamic Republic unveiled its first home-made long-range combat drone, Karrar (Striker), in August 2010. Since then the country has manufactured a variety of other high-tech surveillance and combat unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
