Non-oil exports of Iran's Mazandaran Province increase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 30. The export of non-oil products from Mazandaran Province, located in northern Iran, increased by nine percent in value terms and 70 percent in weight terms in the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 2024) compared to the same month of last year, the customs inspector of Iran's Mazandaran Province Amir Jamshidi said, Trend reports.

According to him, 147,000 tons of non-oil products worth $23.7 million were exported from Mazandaran Province in the first month.

Jamshidi added that dairy products, cement, mining minerals, and many more are exported from the province.

The official noted that 7,000 tons worth $8.53 million were exported from Mazandaran Province to Iraq in one month, 108,000 tons worth $6.42 million to Russia, 7,000 tons worth $1.23 million to Turkmenistan, 14,000 tons worth $1.18 million to Kazakhstan, and 1,000 tons worth $989,000 to Uzbekistan.

Jamshidi stated that 77 percent of Mazandaran Province's non-oil products in value terms and 94 percent in weight terms are exported to the mentioned 5 countries.

To note, a total of 1.5 million tons of products worth $318 million were exported from Mazandaran Province in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024). Compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), non-oil exports from Mazandaran province increased by 14 percent in value and 52 percent in weight.
