Volume of loans issued to households grows in Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 29. The largest share of loans issued to households in Azerbaijan as of March 31, 2024, amounted to 56.9 percent of the total volume of lending, Trend reports.

According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), the volume of loans issued to households increased by 2.6 billion manat ($1.5 billion), or 22.79 percent (from 11.7 billion manat ($6.8 billion) to 14.4 billion manat ($8.4 billion) in the mentioned period on an annualized basis.

Meanwhile, crediting in the trade and services sector increased by 427.2 million manat ($251.1 million), or 12.96 percent, to 3.7 billion manat ($2.1 billion) against 3.2 billion manat ($1.8 billion) in the same period last year. The share of the trade and services sector in the total volume of lending amounted to 14.6 percent.

To note, crediting of the real sector of Azerbaijan's economy as of March 31, 2024, as a whole increased by 23.12 percent, or 4.7 billion manat ($2.7 billion) compared to the same period in 2023 (from 20.6 billion manat ($12.1 billion) to 25.4 billion manat ($14.9 billion).
