BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, April 30. Kyrgyzstan's annual inflation rate stood at 5.2 percent in April 2024, down from 7.3 percent in December 2023, Trend reports.
According to the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, this figure is close to the lower end of the monetary policy's medium-term target range of 5-7 percent.
Within the inflation breakdown, there has been a notable slowdown in the price growth of food items, dropping from 3.4 percent in December 2023 to 1.1 percent in April 2024. This trend is influenced by the decrease in prices on global food markets.
Meanwhile, the pace of price increases for non-food items and services is also slowing down, albeit at a more moderate rate.
Inflation in Kyrgyzstan dropped from 14.7 percent at the beginning of 2023 to 7.3 percent by the end. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) expects inflation in Kyrgyzstan to reach 6.7 percent in 2024. The World Bank (WB) anticipates inflation in Kyrgyzstan to be 8.4 percent this year.
