BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 29. The volume of crude oil and non-oil products handled and unloaded at the ports of Bushehr Province, located in southern Iran, grew by one percent in the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 to April 20, 2024) compared to the same month last year, director general of the Port and Maritime Administration of Iran's Bushehr Province, Mohammad Shakibinasab said, Trend reports.
He claims that in the first month, 4.6 million tons of goods
were loaded and discharged in the ports of Bushehr Province, and
some 1.02 million tons of non-oil items were loaded and unloaded at
the ports of Bushehr Province in the first month. This is 34
percent higher than the same month last year.
According to the official, 14,200 TEU containers were loaded and
unloaded at the Bushehr ports in the first month. This is an 18
percent increase over the same month last year.
Shakibinasab noted that 134,000 tons of goods were moved through
Bushehr Province's ports in the first month. The main transit
products were gasoline, equipment, spare parts, and so on.
He emphasized that about 113,000 tons of products were imported through the ports of Bushehr Province in the first month. The import of products increased by 171 percent compared to the same period last year.
To note, Bushehr, Kharg, Genaveh, Dayyer, Asaluyeh, and other ports operate in Iran's Bushehr Province.
