The number of tourists from Uzbekistan traveling to Georgia from January through October 2021 increased by 161.7 percent to 28,214 visitors, compared to 10,783 people over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via Georgian National Tourism Administration.
Meanwhile, the same indicator increased by 97.8 percent in the reporting period of 2021, compared to first 10 months of 2019, when 14,265 people visited Georgia from Uzbekistan.
Thus, Uzbekistan ranks 11 among main countries of origin for tourists arriving in Georgia, the report said.
The total number of incoming international visitors to Georgia from January through October 2021 amounted to 1.5 million people, which is a decrease of 7.7 percent, compared to 1.6 million over the same period of 2020.
According to the statistics, the same index dropped by 79 percent in the reporting period of 2021, compared to 6.6 million over first 10 months of 2019.
