Explosion hits military convoy in Turkey

There was an explosion during the movement of a military convoy in the Turkish city of Mardin on Tuesday, the newspaper Sabah reported. Two military personnel were injured in the result of explosion.

According to the preliminary version, the attack was carried out by militants of terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). Police are investigating at the scene.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK has lasted for over 25 years, claiming over 40,000 lives. The PKK is recognised as a terrorist organisation both by the UN and the EU.
