Sukhoi Civil Aircraft has brought its Superjet 100 to Tehran’s Mehrabad airport to display the aircraft's capabilities.

A group of Russian engineers have also arrived in the Iranian capital to present the aircraft to the airlines of the Middle Eastern nation, local media reported.

The move comes amid Sukhoi efforts to sell its products to Iran which is looking to renew its aged aviation fleet in the post sanctions era.

Following the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA/ nuclear deal) in January 2016, Iran concluded deals to acquire 100 planes from Airbus, 80 from Boeing and 20 from ATR.

In the addition to the eight ATR, the country has already received three Airbus, increasing the number of Iran’s post-sanctions aircraft to 11.
