Interior ministry: Arms revealed at home of relative of Islamic Party chairman (UPDATE)

During the search operations conducted by officers of the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry's department on combating organized criminality, battle grenades and bullets for the submachine-gun were revealed at home of Dayanat Samedov - the cousin of the chairman of the Islamic Party Movsum Samedov - and at the shop where he works, this is stated in the joint statement of the General Prosecutor's Office and Interior Ministry released on Tuesday.
Earlier, Movsum Samedov, head of the Islamic Party, which has no state registration, was detained as a suspect in the activities aimed at disturbing public order, the preparation of terror and the threat of terrorism.
A criminal case was filed over the fact in accordance with Article 228 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan (illegal purchase and possession of firearms), investigation is conducted.
To timely prevent a dangerous social crime such as terrorism, the law-enforcement agencies carried out operational-search measures at homes of Dayanat Rzayev and his close relative Firdovsi Mammadrzayev in Guba city.
Two submachine guns Kalashnikov, 60 bullets for submachine gun, 20 hand grenades "F-1", 4 cartridges for bullets were found at Dayanat Rzayev's home and utility room in the courtyard.
10 hand grenades "F-1", 40 bullets for submachine gun and one cartridge for bullets were found at Firdovsi Mammadrzayev's home and greenhouse near it.
Investigative and operative search actions continue.
