BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 16. UK Ambassador to Azerbaijan Fergus Auld has shared a post on F1 weekend in Baku, Trend reports.
"It's been an incredible experience to look under the bonnet of Formula One and meet some of the amazing people and teams who make it all happen. The city of Baku is transformed this weekend. The Baku City Circuit weaves its way around the walls of the old city and then goes full throttle along the shore of the Caspian Sea," he said.
The ambassador pointed out that as Azerbaijan gears up to host the UN climate negotiations at COP29 this November, the development of sustainable fuel technology and how to achieve net zero in the sport by 2030 become important topics.
"This creative spark, this pioneering technological development, and this laser focus on sustainability is an inspiration for our government's mission to deliver a zero-carbon electricity system by 2030. It's been a thrilling weekend, and I can't wait to see how F1 and our British teams keep pushing boundaries on and off the track," Fergus Auld added.
