BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 7. A concert featuring the US-based Azerbaijani musician Farhad Khudiyev took place at Texas University, Trend reports.
Under Khudiyev's direction, the university's symphony orchestra took center stage, showcasing a medley of selected excerpts from the ballet "Seven Beauties" by the illustrious Azerbaijani composer Gara Garayev, alongside pieces by the talented Donald Grantham and the legendary Igor Stravinsky during the concert.
The State Committee for Work with Diaspora of Azerbaijan announced that Khudiyev took the bull by the horns, conducting orchestras in Connecticut during the 2010-2011 season and in New Jersey the following year, 2011-2012.
He held the reins as the principal conductor and music director of the California State Youth Orchestra from 2012 to 2020.
Khudiyev currently teaches conducting at Texas University and also works as the music director of the university's symphony orchestra. He has performed with orchestras from all around the globe and was honored with the "Beethoven 25" gold prize.
